NOVA Meter: Nurse will demonstrate operation of NOVA meter and management of abnormal results		Evidence of Daily Work - Nurse will be observed by a NOVA super-user performing QCs, patient test, and reporting and documenting a critical value following HHS policy & procedures. Instruction: Utilize “NOVA EODW-2023” form for validation. Include signed form as part of competency validation packet. Knowledge Assessment - SABA Quiz 100% passing score Instruction: Log into SABA and complete the “NOVA Knowledge Assessment 2023” quiz. Print certificate of completion and include as part of submitted competency packet.
Restraints: Nurse will demonstrate knowledge and skill related to mechanical restraints.		Evidence of Daily Work - Nurse will be observed by 3 other RNs applying, managing, and documenting patient on restraints following HHS policy & procedure (1 out of the 3 instances must include new start or order renewal). Instruction: Utilize “Restraint EODW-2023” form for validation. Include signed form as part of competency validation packet. Knowledge Assessment - SABA Quiz with 100% passing score Instruction: Log in to SABA, search for “Restraint Knowledge Assessment-2023” and complete the questions. Print certificate of completion and include as part of submitted competency packet. Case Study - Read the case study regarding mechanical restraints and answer questions accordingly Instruction: Utilize “Restraint Case Study-2023” form for validation. Include completed form as part of competency validation packet.
Hemodynamic monitoring: Nurse will demonstrate knowledge and critical thinking/clinical judgement of hemodynamic parameters.		Knowledge Assessment - SABA Quiz with 100% passing score Instruction: Log into SABA, search for “Hemodynamic Knowledge Assessment- 2023” and complete the questions. Print certificate of completion and include as part of submitted competency packet. Case Study - Read Case Study regarding a patient with clinical complications and answer questions accordingly Instruction: Utilize the “Hemodynamic Monitoring Case Study-2023” form for validation. Include completed form as part of competency validation packet.
Titratable medications: Nurse will demonstrate knowledge and documentation of titratable medications.		Evidence of Daily Work - 1) Provide screenshot of a 4 hours instance which you are documenting initiation and titration of a drip 2) Provide a screenshot of an instance (2 blocks) which you are documenting block charting on a drip Instruction: Include the above screenshots as part of competency validation packet. Knowledge Assessment - SABA Quiz with 100% passing score Instruction: Log into SABA, search for “Titratable Medications Knowledge Assessment-2023” and complete the questions. Print certificate of completion and include as part of submitted competency packet. Case Study - Read Case Study regarding a patient on Norepinephrine and answer questions accordingly Instruction: Utilize the “Titratable Medications Case Study-2023” form form for validation. You may review HHS Policy 565.00 Appendix E if needed. Include completed form as part of competency validation packet.
